Wet n' Wild Wild Shine Buy one, get one 1/2 off sale at Walgreens!!!

Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

Normally I couldn't care less about BOGO50%OFF sales because they always seem to be for something over priced, but Wet n' Wild Wild Shine polishes are only .99 cents so with the sale that makes them .74 cents a pop when you buy in multiples of two. That's my kinda sale baby!  They also just recently came out with some new colors that are pretty awesome.  Here are some quick swatches to help ever so gently urge you to get up and go stalk your neighborhood Walgreens.  I'll bet it's open 24 hours... The sale ends on April 3rd.

The formula on these was surprisingly good for the price.  The cremes were very pigmented but were a bit hard to apply so 3 coats were needed on most of them to get them totally smooth. The shimmers were hit or miss.  The darker ones were 2 coaters while the lighter shimmers took 3-4 coats.  Wild Card was a disapointing piece of crap and took 5 coats to be opaque.  They applied smooth, not streaky and had minimal cuticle drag.  Certainly well worth the $ in my book.

Happy Shopping!

Mostly Meh, Sometimes Marvelous.

I am so addicted to shopping drug stores and department stores for polish sales.  I almost always order my polish online, so I'm used to waiting for things in the mail.  This was the only way I ever used to acquire polish.  So, shopping in person for polish and actually getting my hands on it right then became an instant addiction.  I usually regret it right away because sales always outweigh whether or not I actually want something.  Not to mention the "deals" always add up to an amount of money that could have purchased the polishes I REALLY wanted online.  Keep in mind this obsession only started about 2 months ago when Walgreens ran it's first BOGO on Sinful Colors.  Before that I had never purchased nail polish in person EVER.  Not once.

To top it off there are always rushes on certain drugstore brands of polish once online swatches start to circulate.  When I see one of these "desirable" polishes I ALWAYS buy it.  Whether I personally like it is not even a factor.  A prime example is Sally Hansen Opulent Cloud.  I finally spotted it and bought it without thinking.  I never even opened it because I knew I would end up swapping it since I don't even like the stupid polish in the first place.  Alas, I broke down and swatched it anyway today just to see what all the fuss is about.  My original opinion still stands on this one, "meh".
This was 2 coats.

Then there are stores like Ross.  At this store you will find packs of several polishes for the price that just one bottle in the pack would sell for at a drug store.  I CANNOT resist them.  10 mixed Sally Hansens for $4.99?  A pack of 5 old school Rimmels for 2.99?  Give me a break!   I am helpless against the powers of low prices.  So, I end up with piles of pinks and sheers I wont ever wear.  At least they were dirt cheap right?  These next two are a crazy amount of coats, like 5?   I'll try to keep the suck to a minimum.
I actually don't hate this one.  It's ok.  2 coats.

Then there are the "sleepers". The polishes I grab because they are on sale that I end up LOVING. They really make all the duds and mindless spending worth it to me.
Rimmel Camoflauge. Gorgeous green shimmer. 2 coats $1.09 at Walgreens!
Deliciously Dark. Super dark purple creme. Awesome! Also, $1.09 at Walgreens.
This is one of the only darker nude shades I like. I love it actually. It flows on smooth like a 20 dollar polish, is opaque in one coat, dries fast and here's the freakin KICKER folks- this polish came in a 2 pack for ONE dollar at a Family Dollar.
Here is the other half of the dollar pack duo.  This also flows like buttah, and dries fast.  It's in my top 3 reds. Yep, 50 cent playa!
My new favorite dark blue shimmer.  It's a rich midnight blue with lots of shimmer that shines TEAL! This is 2 thin coats.  Surprise! This is 99 cents a bottle!

It's not the colors.

There is something sinful about Sinful colors polishes but it's certainly not the colors. It's the price people. Seriously Sinful colors, how can I be expected to maintain any amount of normalcy and not buy EVERY SINGLE ONE of your polishes when they are only $1.99 a bottle. HOW?

I almost forgot to mention(not really) that pretty often walgreens has been running BOGO adds on Sinful colors polish. Egads! That makes these little bottles of pretty paint only $1 each!

As for the quality I have not had a single problem. Let's put it this way, I would reach for a sinful before I reached for an OPI, every time. Sorry OPI. (not really, again).

I even made up my own little version of a normally retarded song to sing about sinful colors. It goes like this- Don't you wish your girlfriend was cheap like me. Don't you wish your girlfriend could read like me. Don'tcha!

Without further adieu bring on the SIN!

Yeah, so? I like this pretty pink polish. Deal with it. As my BFF would say "I'm too hardcore for braids" I assume this also covers polishes of the pink variety. Well, BFF here's what I say- I'm hardcore Enough for braids (and pink polish). This is 3 coats.

This polish is red alright. Red like a one coat OPI. And yes I see the bubble on my pointer finger. As my mother used to say, Waste not want not! But for real my mother never said that I'm just lazy. 2 coats

2 coats. Perfect name for this stank looking polish. No offense I'm just not into orange.

Oh how I love this. Before you go falling in love too please note this polish is WAY less blue than this picture. It is a glorious deep purple jelly with purple and gold fleck glitter. This is 3 coats.

This vibrant blue is so hard to capture with a camera. It's almost electric. 2 coats.

This is nearly a dead ringer for China Glaze Blk-Bila Bong. Love it. 3 coats.

This one is just ok, Love the color but green shimmers get old for me. Green cremes are a different story. A whole different book actually. 2 coats.

Olive greenish, yellowy shimmer. 2 coats

This is 3 coats over show me the way.I kinda like it.

Gorgeous blackened burgundy. 2 coats.

I freakin love this! Black with silver micro glitter. This is a one coater if you're careful.

This is one coat over black. Notice how it looks borring in the bottle but comes alive on my nails? This polish is like a librarian that works at night as a stripper. A good top coat will hide any graininess from the glitter.

Also one coat over black. This polish is as close to gold foil in a bottle that I have seen. At 3 coats it turns opaque. Both of these glitters are over sinful colors- black on black which is the best ONE coat black creme, period.

Drugstore Deals.

I normally like to stick to brands I get online like Misa, China Glaze, Orly etc. But I just cannot pass up cheap polish. An added bonus to my obsessive polish hoarding problem is that I find a lot of really awesome polishes I wouldn't have ever tried had they not been on sale. This being a prime example.

I only got this because it was marked down to $1.39 at my walgreens and I LOVE to have lots of matching bottles from the same brand. I am low on rimmels so I grabbed it in spite of the color. I tried it and fell in love. I freakin adore this! BUT, I came to find out that they were only discounted because rimmel is changing thier bottle design. How nice.

I love the square Sally Hansen Salon bottles. But as with all good things from Sally Hansen they are discontinued and are being replaced with something fugly. So, a lot of stores are discounting the square style bottles. I picked these up at Walgreens for a little over a dollar each on sale. So if you love these like I do start stalking the walgreens in your area STAT!

Sinful colors polishes can be purchased at walgreens. They have been running BOGO sales for them a lot lately so they end up being only $1 each. Normally $1.99 a bottle. This is 2 coats

This beauty was part of the CVS 75% off sale going on this month. A lot of thier store brand items are also BOGO50% off.

I found these old Maybellines at the Dollar Tree. The express  finish normally come in 2 packs for $1. The others are sold individually.

I got this one from Ross in a sort of grab bag package. It had 10 old Sally Hansens. There were extremes, Salons, Glossies, Opals, 10 days wears and Hard as nails all in the same package for only 4.99! Of course I bought both packs.
